Speech and Language Therapy Services

We provide pediatric speech and language services in Massachusetts.

Evaluations

Evaluations include:

  • Caregiver interview/questionnaires

  • Documentation review including previous evaluations/treatment plans, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Skilled observation of speech and language skills

  • Analysis of speech and language samples

Following the evaluation, we will provide you with an evaluation report which will include a summary of strengths and areas for growth, proposed treatment goals and objectives, and recommended treatment frequency. We will then collaborate with you to ensure that goals and objectives fit your needs.

Therapy

Speech and language therapy may support:

  • Executive functioning

  • Receptive and expressive language

  • Social communication that aligns with your child’s individual neurotype

  • Speech sound production

  • Caregiver coaching

Our sessions are play-based and child-led. They focus on establishing connection and promoting regulation to ensure access to communication.

Executive Functioning

Executive functioning therapy may support building:

  • Attentional awareness, focused and sustained attention, shifting attention, inhibitory control

  • Cognitive flexibility, emotional regulation, problem solving

  • Planning, prioritization, organization, time management

Executive functioning skills are the foundation for communication and learning!

Receptive and Expressive Language

We accept all forms of communication and support building speech and language skills for:

  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users

  • Non-speaking, minimally-speaking, and/or inconsistently speaking communicators

  • Individuals who use mainly gestural language or American Sign Language (ASL)

  • Individuals who use spoken language

  • Gestalt language processors (GLPs)

  • Analytic language processors (ALPs)

Social Communication

We support social communication that feels meaningful and motivating for all neurotypes. Therapy may focus on building:

  • Meaningful connections

  • Understanding of individual communication styles

  • Self-advocacy

  • Perspective taking skills

Speech Sound Production

Speech sound production therapy may focus on:

  • Increasing intelligibility

  • Remediating frontal and/or lateral lisps

  • Reducing the use of phonological patterns

Caregiver Coaching

Caregivers are encouraged to join evaluations and/or sessions as therapeutically appropriate. Caregiver coaching can include:

  • Building strategies to support connection with your child

  • Observing and learning strategies to enhance your child’s communication

  • Practicing communication strategies to ensure carryover in your child’s daily environments
